Strategic Account Director

Meeting Tomorrow
$110,000 - $300,000Hybrid

About The Position

Meeting Tomorrow is seeking a Strategic Account Director (SAD) to significantly expand its Event Production services within Fortune 5000 companies. This is a pure business development role focused on building a client base from scratch, as the position does not receive inbound leads. The SAD will be responsible for identifying and securing opportunities exceeding $1 million, targeting brands that conduct multiple events annually. This role acts as a liaison between a client's creative aspirations and the technical production capabilities, guiding cross-functional teams to develop substantial event programs. Success in this role involves finding clients who host numerous events globally and establishing Meeting Tomorrow as their dedicated partner for planning, creative, and production services. The position requires frequent client interaction and involves approximately 30% travel.

Requirements

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in building a book of business from the ground up, with a history of managing $10M+ in lifetime event revenue across a diverse client list.
  • Agency Veteran: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Event Industry, with a preference for agency-side experience over AV-only hardware sales.
  • Established Relationships: High-level relationships within target sectors such as Pharma, FinServ, Tech, and Consulting.
  • Strategic Acumen: Ability to align a client's business goals with technical production realities.
  • Grit & Initiative: Proactive approach to identifying targets and pursuing opportunities without waiting for direction.

Nice To Haves

  • The First Year Benchmark: Close $1M in new business within the first 12 months.
  • Outbounding: Build pipeline through strategic outreach, industry networking, and deep-rooted relationships, with a track record built on zero inbound leads.
  • Strategic Hunting: Sell solutions by understanding client organizational politics and needs, and navigating complex decision-making hierarchies.
  • Presence: Be "in the field" and in front of clients constantly, with at least 30% travel for relationship building, attending industry events, and closing deals in person.

Responsibilities

  • Closing Deals: Qualify, pitch, and close multi-million dollar event programs.
  • Full-Cycle Ownership: Manage the entire sales process from initial contact to contract negotiation and ensuring successful first execution.
  • Pipeline Engineering: Continuously identify and pursue clients with global needs and frequent event calendars.
  • Relationship Architecture: Build strong personal and professional relationships with top-tier meeting planners and C-suite stakeholders.
