TRC is seeking a Strategic Account Director to join its highly successful Planning, Permitting, and Licensing (PPL) Practice in Portland, Oregon. This role will report to the Vice-President Western Group Practice Leader with costs and revenue contained within Planning, Permitting, and Licensing (PPL). The role involves elements of project and program management, including being the point person for solicitation requests, developing responses, and disseminating requests to the correct person in operations. It includes oversight of proposal response and project delivery teams, providing coaching and guidance to Junior Staff, and senior project management, delivery, and execution of project work for existing and new clients. Approximately 60% of the role is focused on Project Management/Delivery/Execution, involving execution of project work for key clients, collaboration on go-no go decisions and staffing, and championing efforts around positioning and capture. This includes cross-sector selling of services with a focus on energy transition and transportation, and interfacing with clients regarding their satisfaction with TRC’s services. The remaining 40% is dedicated to Client Management and Business Development, involving collaboration with TRC’s Client Development Unit and National Marketing Group, key client account management, and being market and client facing. The Account Director will influence and build rapport with key stakeholders, act as a liaison/advocate for OneTRC, and aim to grow and develop existing clients across sectors and new service lines. This involves getting to know clients, relationship building, pushing strategic initiatives, and influencing protocols to be more proactive and less reactive. Additional responsibilities include mentoring and coaching environmental planning staff, participating in recruiting and hiring environmental planning support staff, and building TRC’s environmental planning capabilities in the PPL’s Western geography. The role will focus on end-market growth in the energy sector and national accounts often based out of the WA and OR markets. The Business Development aspect offers the opportunity to grow cross-practice/cross-sector engagements. For large development opportunities, the role involves identifying opportunities, entering them into Salesforce, focusing on win/capture strategy, identifying a capture champion, building the capture team, owning messaging and positioning, and liaising with operations groups to assemble an execution/delivery team.
