About The Position

C/A Design, Inc., a Heico Company, is a leader in the Brazing industry, providing custom engineered cooling solutions for the Aerospace and Defense sectors. We are seeking a Straightener to join our Brazing team. This critical role involves the assembly and straightening of aluminum chassis and cold plates to meet blueprint specifications. Protecting the Warfighter is our mission, and we invite you to contribute to this vital work.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to read internal drawings and use basic measuring equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Brazing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of metal properties (not a must but a plus).

Responsibilities

• Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Straightens Aluminum Chassis’ & Cold plates to blueprint specifications, using hand tools and knowledge of metal properties.
• Rolls workpiece on surface plate or mounts and rotates it between Centers & Datums to straighten irregularities visually or with dial indicator.
• Positions workpiece on surface plate and hammers using fiber blocks on workpiece at points of irregularity to straighten it to specifications.
• Uses support throughout the process to avoid damaging the part during the straightening process, as units and parts will be in a soft state.
• Measures straightened workpiece for conformance with specifications, using straightedge, micrometers, calipers, height stand, Tesla measuring unit.
• Straighten workpiece in Straightening Press, either Pneumatic or Hand Pump.
• May need to solutionize & quench workpiece in furnace before straightening the chassis or cold plate.
• Other duties as assigned.
