Straight Truck Driver
About The Position
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused Box Truck Driver to support the safe and timely transportation of commercial goods and equipment. This role is responsible for timely, reliable delivery, removal, and assembly of commercial goods - including office furniture, lab equipment, commercial goods, school furniture, and household goods - while providing a professional experience for our customers. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where service, communication, and on-time performance are critical.
Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift
- Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a 26-foot box truck while transporting cargo, crew, and other high-value materials.
- Deliver products safely, accurately, and on schedule while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Load, unload, secure, and handle cargo appropriately to prevent damage and maintain product integrity.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain all required documentation.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel usage, delivery documentation, and other operational records.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams regarding schedules, deliveries, delays, and service issues.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as company safety and operating procedures.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and business partners.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained vehicle.
- Identify and proactively communicate potential delivery, equipment, or customer-service issues.
- Support overall operational efficiency by following established routes, schedules, and delivery procedures.
