The Stormwater Permit Manager provides planning and program implementation for stormwater activities. Serves as technical expert with unique skills in the areas of research, planning, and program implementation. This full-time position works in the Public Works Natural Resource Division’s Stormwater Program and assists in the implementation of the County’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Stormwater Permit. Work includes short-term and long-term stormwater planning, project management for stormwater retrofit projects, grant writing support, asset mapping and monitoring, coordinating with Ecology around permit compliance, advising on direction of stormwater strategic planning, and serving on interdisciplinary teams. This position may also assist in reviewing and updating stormwater management reports, staff training, and drafting county code. Work is performed using independent judgement under the direction of the County’s Natural Resource Division Manager and Public Works Director. This position will serve as lead, overseeing work of assigned staff to accomplish the goals and objectives of the county’s stormwater program.
