About The Position

The Permit Manager is responsible for overseeing all permitting activities related to company projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role manages the permit process from initial application through approval, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies to prevent delays and maintain project timelines.

Requirements

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope of work
  • Experience in permitting, construction administration, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of local and state regulatory processes
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

  • Manage and track all permit applications, approvals, and renewals
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and inspectors
  • Ensure all projects meet zoning, building code, and environmental requirements
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather required documentation
  • Monitor permitting timelines and proactively address potential delays
  • Maintain organized records of permits, approvals, and related correspondence
  • Stay current on changes in regulations and compliance requirements
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership on permitting progress
  • Oversee site readiness in advance of inspections and attend all on-site inspections to ensure compliance
  • Keep permit tracker up to date and send weekly updates via email
  • Initiates permitting process after turnover meetings
  • Keep inspection logs per job
  • Coordinate permit comments with engineer of records and obtains required revisions
  • Maintain separate log for DOH commercial applications
  • Maintain city approved hard copy plans and permit cards at the warehouse
  • Keep a hard copy of latest set of plans for each job
  • Assist with coordinating minor maintenance tasks, organizing materials and supplies, supporting inventory management, and helping maintain cleanliness and order in the warehouse.
  • Provide operational support to the Project Managing team by helping with on-site visits, covering meetings, documentation, and on-site needs to ensure smooth dayto-day operations across job sites and facilities.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as required by management
