About The Position

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Stores I team member to support material movement, inventory control, receiving, and storage operations within our manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials are received, stored, tracked, and delivered accurately to support production schedules and customer commitments. As a Stores I employee, you will assist with the movement, storage, and handling of materials throughout the facility. Working under the guidance of experienced team members and supervisors, you’ll help maintain inventory accuracy, support shipping and receiving activities, and ensure production teams have the materials they need when they need them. Your day may include receiving materials from vendors, verifying counts and inspecting shipments for damage, moving materials between departments, performing inventory checks, or assisting with packing and crate assembly. You’ll operate material-handling equipment, maintain accurate documentation, and support the flow of materials through the facility to keep production running efficiently.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic understanding of inventory control and material handling practices.
Ability to accurately complete documentation and records.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
Dependable attendance and work habits.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform all Stores I and lower-level responsibilities as assigned.
Process and maintain authorized inventory and material movement documentation, including pick lists, packing lists, and receiving records.
Record material movement and storage transactions accurately.
Support material movement and storage activities to meet production and shipping schedules.
Transport materials between departments using hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.
Remove scrap and excess materials from production areas as required.
Perform receipt inspections to verify quantities and identify shipping or transit damage.
Verify the count and condition of incoming materials received from suppliers and Delta Star facilities.
Conduct basic cycle counts and inventory verification activities.
Perform plating operations as required.
Assemble wooden crates and corrugated containers for material packaging and shipment.
Maintain material organization and proper storage practices.
Support shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities.
Assist with inspections as directed.
Safely operate forklifts and maintain required equipment certifications.
Maintain productivity and quality standards established for the position.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
