About The Position

The Stores Controller at Caterpillar’s Large Engine Center is responsible for receiving and safely unloading material used in assembly, ordering material to ensure availability, tracking material in Caterpillar’s inventory system, and coordinating material flow with production schedules. The position is located in Monticello, Indiana, and is on 1st shift, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The role requires communication and coordination with other shifts, the machine shop, assembly, dispatchers, truck drivers, distribution technicians in other areas, Supply Chain personnel, and management. Candidates must complete Caterpillar’s hiring process, including the online production assessment, interview, background check, post-offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen. New hires must also successfully complete Basic Assembly Training as part of orientation and onboarding. Candidates are expected to remain in the position for 12 months, except in the case of a promotion or a move from nights to days. The work environment is climate controlled in most areas and is described as clean and safe. The role involves standing on concrete for more than eight hours, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds, bending, twisting at the waist, and squatting. Required personal protective equipment must be used consistently. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

Requirements

Be qualified to safely operate a forklift and tow truck.
Have experience with EIMS, Visual Factory ISS, and MESA systems.
Have basic computer skills.
Have good written and oral communication skills.
Be able to read, write, and conduct business in English.
Successfully complete Caterpillar’s hiring process, including the online production assessment, interview, background check, post-offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen.
Successfully complete and pass Basic Assembly Training as part of new-hire orientation and onboarding.

Be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds; bend and twist at the waist; squat; and stand on concrete for more than eight hours.

Responsibilities
