About The Position

This is a Career Service position located at Hardee Correctional Institution in the Warehouse. The Warehouse efficiently manages the storage and distribution of supplies, as well as handles all incoming and outgoing mail for the correctional facilities. The aim is to ensure that all operations run smoothly, supporting the overall functioning of the institution and meeting the needs of both staff and inmates. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must pass a Level 2 background check.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• May require the incumbent to possess a CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming and outgoing inmate and institutional mail, ensuring no contraband slips through and adhering to strict mail rules and procedures, including handling legal and privileged mail.
• Deliver legal mail, maintaining meticulous logs, and acting as a notary when needed.
• Distribute institutional mail, prepare routine replies, update reports, and process inmate grievances.
• Provide clerical support for institutional operations, handle court documents, and assist with mailroom-related tasks.
• Manage warehouse inventory, process received goods, place property tags, and assist vendors and staff with routine questions.
