Stores and Transportation Control C

RTX•Winston-Salem, NC

About The Position

The Stores and Transportation team is hiring two employees to perform manual and administrative work associated with inventory control, stockroom operations, kitting, expediting, shipping, and receiving, following established procedures. Duties rotate according to workload and may include stock pulls and put-aways, inventory cycle counts, and internal distribution activities. The work includes CFE and OSP. Because the department encompasses Shipping, OSP, Receiving, Raw Stock, and Stores, the job description combines responsibilities that may apply to particular areas rather than every area. This is an onsite, safety-sensitive position. Employees may be subject to FAA-regulated drug and alcohol testing, and employment consideration is contingent on passing a DOT pre-employment drug test. The role requires lifting, pushing, or pulling materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent; in its absence, two years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company immigration sponsorship now or in the future, according to the posting's work-authorization requirements.
  • Must successfully pass a DOT pre-employment drug test; the position is subject to drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
  • Able to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operate handheld computers, data collection terminals, and similar devices to process issues, receipts, location moves, returns to stock, and other adjustments according to procedure; use the mainframe terminal for inquiries.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and three-wheel transport vehicles as needed.
  • Move parts to Quality Assurance (MRB), ensuring transactions are entered in the system and the required paperwork is attached.
  • Count parts or use scales to count and weigh parts and packages.
  • Follow established procedures for moving or stocking hazardous materials.
  • Record information such as quantity, code, description, order number, and weight in order books, stock records, tags, and cartons.
  • Package items and prepare stencils or mark boxes as specified.
  • When required, open containers, verify contents against paperwork, document discrepancies or damage, store materials by area, type, quantity, and value, and contact personnel to determine proper disposition.
  • When required, operate company vehicles to pick up and deliver items within a specified area.
  • Perform required cycle-count duties.
