About The Position

The Storeroom Coordinator is directly responsible for establishing, organizing, planning, and implementing maintenance support and continuous improvement programs for our receiving and storeroom operations. This includes following James Hardie procedures and processes for requisitioning and receipt of operating supplies and services. Duties include managing the replenishment of Maintenance MRO parts and facilitate company strategies for MRO management. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to interact will all levels of management. The Storeroom Coordinator will maintain inventory control policies to assure accurate and controlled inventories. The Storeroom Coordinator will facilitate reporting on performance against operating and financial KPI measures and involved in cost reduction initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of storeroom, inventory management, maintenance support, or related experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in BE Spare Parts Management and MRO Inventory Management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of MRO commodities, inventory control principles, purchasing, and requisitioning processes.
  • Experience analyzing inventory data and making recommendations to optimize inventory levels and improve operational performance.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and perform physical tasks, including regularly lifting 10-20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain MRO inventory to ensure parts availability and effective support for maintenance operations.
  • Coordinate receiving, requisitioning, purchasing, and replenishment activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support storeroom improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, inventory accuracy, and operational performance.
  • Integrate storeroom operations with maintenance planning and execution processes to improve equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate storeroom Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while providing training to maintenance and plant personnel.
  • Monitor inventory levels and analyze usage trends to recommend adjustments that optimize stock levels and support VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) programs.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and maintain strong inventory control practices to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability.
  • Develop and report on key storeroom performance indicators (KPIs) and support financial and operational performance goals.
  • Identify obsolete or surplus inventory and implement strategies to reduce excess stock and associated costs.
  • Partner with Maintenance Planners to manage parts obsolescence, replacements, and equipment Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
  • Serve as a liaison between maintenance teams, vendors, accounting, and procurement partners to resolve inventory, purchasing, and invoice-related issues.
  • Manage open purchase orders and coordinate follow-up actions with vendors and buying teams.
  • Develop and implement material kitting processes for preventive maintenance and planned work orders.
  • Oversee part repair programs and support cost reduction initiatives across maintenance operations.
  • Build positive working relationships with employees, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the organization.
