This position is responsible for processing requisitions, pulling and delivering stock items to ordering departments, and receiving and delivering special order items. The role involves completing weekly inventory, maintaining records of supplies, and ensuring supplies are at full par levels with a focus on continuous process improvement. The clerk will notify the buyer and manager of supply levels and receive and store products according to regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include managing the acquisition, storage, flow, and tracking of all products, as well as procuring, tracking, maintaining, and safeguarding supplies. Collaboration with customers and supply chain staff to identify optimal product sources is also a part of the role. Specific duties in the Emergency Department include processing supply and special-order requests, replenishing specialty kits and physician's trays, and ensuring necessary paperwork is available. For the Hoag Orthopedic Institute Surgery Center, the Inventory Medical Specialist will manage daily operations for procurement and management of all stock and non-stock supplies, working closely with team leads to maintain par levels and improve processes. This includes procuring, tracking, maintaining, and safeguarding supplies for OR, Pre/PACU, and SPD, and collaborating with vendors and team leads for optimal product sourcing. Participation in continuous quality improvement processes is also expected.
