About The Position

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) is seeking a Storekeeper to join their team. Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions & percentages.
  • 6 months training or 6 months experience in inventory control.
  • 3 months training or 3 months experience in OSHA &/or other safety standards & practices applicable to storeroom or warehouse operations.
  • Employees working in a drug central warehouse or storeroom must pass security screen.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team of incarcerated individuals in receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing stock, supplies, and/or equipment.
  • Enforce storeroom or warehouse procedures.
  • Inventory and order supplies.
  • Complete and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Receive clothing and shoes for incarcerated individuals and staff.
  • Issue and/or exchange clothing items and shoes for incarcerated individuals and staff.
  • Store and rotate stock.
  • Update and maintain logs and records, and maintain perpetual inventory.
  • Label and/or price stock items.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate all related equipment assigned to the area.
  • Open incoming mail and physically inspect contents.
  • Operate x-ray equipment to scan incoming parcels and packages for contraband.
  • Follow security procedures for confiscation of contraband and notification of appropriate institutional staff.
  • Operate postage machines to process incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Determine class of mail and set postage meters.
  • Complete documentation associated with special mail handling.
  • Deliver mail, parcels, and/or messages to appropriate offices.
  • Prepare and submit all applicable reports.
  • Distribute cleaning supplies, paper products, dry goods, and other food items.
  • Receive clothing and shoes from incarcerated individuals being released.
  • Receive clothing and equipment from staff separating from the institution.
  • Load and unload trucks and/or distribute contents to various offices.
  • Maintain daily records in assigned area.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.
  • Serve on institution committees.
