About The Position

The Arizona Department of Correction, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an energetic, motivated individual to join our team as a Storekeeper. This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, conducting inventory, and distributing a wide variety of materials, products, supplies, and equipment. The job involves warehouse management, including receiving, storing, inventorying, distributing, or serving as a supply clerk.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of storekeeping/warehousing practices, procedures, and systems (shipping, receiving, stock rotation, inventory control).
  • Knowledge of special storage requirements for hazardous materials and supplies.
  • Knowledge of state procurement procedures.
  • Knowledge of state property/equipment receiving and disposal procedures and requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic recordkeeping, report preparation, and statistical data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations safety, security, and accountability practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, Fire Codes, and other related regulations related to warehousing operations, storing, and stocking.
  • Knowledge of records retention requirements and procedures.
  • Skill in operating specialized warehousing equipment.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret reference materials related to hazardous material storage and distribution.
  • Ability to adhere to ADCRR safety regulations and mandates related to warehouse sanitation, security, and operations for material handling equipment.
  • Ability to check incoming/outgoing items against appropriate shipping/receiving documents.
  • Ability to maintain inventory control records.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to apply sound critical judgment.
  • Ability to articulate changes, problems, and methodologies to others with less experience and/or knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a prison environment.
  • Must pass a background investigation and a drug test.
  • Must take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.
  • If driving is an essential function, must meet driver's license requirements.
  • Must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory control, and fiscal management.
  • Experience with automated computer systems and software.
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures, OSHA regulations, fire codes, and record-keeping requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, and distributing a wide variety of materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock levels.
  • Maintaining stock history files using an automated inventory control system and the State Procurement System.
  • Coordinating and verifying outgoing shipments and incoming deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Maintaining and overseeing warehouse product to prevent damage.
  • Conducting annual inventory.
  • Completing required documents for accounts payable to ensure prompt and correct payment to vendors.
  • Assisting in the resolution of delivery discrepancies.
  • Training, supervising, or directing other staff in completing warehouse responsibilities.
  • Stocking shelves, rotating items, and staging items for deliveries.
  • Processing and completing property records for new purchases and state surplus disposal forms.
  • Utilizing inmate labor to perform warehouse functions and related tasks.
  • Driving on State business.
  • Performing other duties appropriate to the assignment.
