About The Position

The Storekeeper receives, issues, sells, and controls the stock of supplies used for line construction and maintenance work. The role also includes checking the security of the main office, warehouse, and storage areas. The position usually works in the general office building, warehouse, and on the grounds, with occasional out-of-town technical seminars and conferences. The Storekeeper must be able to work in all weather conditions, lift and move heavy objects, be available in emergencies, work long hours, and be subject to call 24 hours a day. Overtime is frequently required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to take construction specifications and break them down into individual material items.
• Ability to learn cooperative policies related to material sales to employees and the public.
• Knowledge of the Cooperative safety rules applicable to the job.
• Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word as required by job responsibilities.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift and move heavy objects.
• Must be available in emergency situations, willing to work long hours, and subject to call 24 hours a day.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with supply chain concepts, inventory best practices, and warehouse environments.
• Experience with construction specifications, staking sheets, and material records.
• Working knowledge of material systems and staking sheets.
• Knowledge of inventory software programs.

Responsibilities

• Help receive, issue, and sell materials and supplies.
• Use staking sheets to list materials on issue sheets for construction crew jobs.
• Help maintain the normal list of supplies needed.
• Work with the inventory software program and personal computers.
• Conduct annual inventory and pack, crate, and wrap outgoing shipments.
• Operate forklifts, backhoes, trailers, and other equipment necessary to complete assigned duties.
• Pick up and deliver materials and supplies to other warehouses, including another cooperative or IOU.
• Check the security of the main office, warehouse, and storage areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
