About The Position

The Virginia State Police is hiring a Storekeeper Senior in its Finance and General Services Center at the Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The position supports the State Police Warehouse by receiving and issuing supplies and equipment to VSP offices and individual employees, putting away stock in appropriate warehouse locations, preparing equipment for shipment, and picking up and delivering supplies and equipment to local vendors and other state agencies.

Requirements

• Knowledge of general storeroom procedures.
• Knowledge of storekeeping and inventory procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory record-keeping procedures.
• Skill in operating computers.
• Skill in using Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 25,000 pounds.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate with others in English.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to move, load, and unload heavy supplies.
• Ability to operate motorized equipment.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school graduation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Receive and issue supplies and equipment from the State Police Warehouse to VSP offices and individual employees.
• Put away received stock in the correct warehouse locations.
• Prepare equipment for shipment.
• Pick up and deliver supplies and equipment to local vendors and other state agencies.
• Maintain inventory records.
