About The Position

The role of Store Planning Technical Analyst at Family Dollar is responsible for leading and executing the application of Macro Space Analytics to Store Plans, Renovations, New Stores, and Special Projects. This position is responsible for embracing Family Dollar’s store-centric commitment to customers, customer service and sales. The current formats are a multi-year, customer centric, data driven business transformation initiative that will drive meaningful improvements in key financial metrics for the enterprise. The program is focused on: Operational excellence through Store simplification and team member engagement, and Improving and tailoring the overall shopping experience to reflect distinct Customer shopping patterns.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years retail store planning experience.
  • Accountability for managing/leading a work group to achieve specific results.
  • Ability to use logic and methods to solve problems, probes for answers and looks beyond the obvious.
  • Ability to self-manage projects.
  • Complete assignments with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Above average AutoCAD skills.
  • SharePoint proficiency.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Above average Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field of study.
  • Experience in AutoCAD.
  • Experience in Construction.
  • Experience in Site Planning and/or Space Planning Concept.
  • Corporate or field-based retail experience is preferred.
  • Ability to think outside the box is paramount.
  • Ability to multitask and organize workload is required.
  • Must be able to adapt very well to change.
  • Manage the interest of multiple groups while driving the project towards an overarching goal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • MS-Office Applications proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage sales and productivity data, and customer feedback to identify appropriate space standards for store layouts, including category size, placement and adjacencies.
  • Draw new stores, renovation stores, and special projects.
  • Iteratively apply Macro Space analytics to store Layouts and develop Merchandise Plans.
  • Assist store planners to the current format methodology, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) representing Store Planners in the practical use and critical functions required to support production related activities as well as reporting.
  • As assigned, have one primary focus area of responsibility (e.g., support for New Stores, Renovations, Freezer/Cooler Projects, or Special Project requests).
  • Support leadership with documentation for all current Store Planning formats, including Store Planning Standards Documents and Team tools.
  • Support the Store Planning team with developing/executing training for all formats and projects.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
