About The Position

The Store Merchandiser executes product placement strategies across retail locations to enhance shelf visibility and maximize display space for Smithfield and Private Label items. The role involves independently stocking merchandise, maintaining Point-of-Sale materials, following route schedules, applying flavor schematics, and observing safety practices. The merchandiser collaborates across functions to support new product launches, drive sales growth, and provide service that connects products with consumers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
• Work experience with spreadsheet, word processing, and sales software applications.
• Strong planning, organization, execution, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to provide effective customer service and work as part of a team in fast-paced, dynamic environments while fostering a respectful and positive work culture.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to travel 100% of the time.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree.
• Prior relevant retail grocery experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide merchandising and retail support across accounts, including executing deli store sets and coordinating with warehouses on product placement.
• Ensure proper shelf presence of Smithfield and Private Label deli items to drive distribution.
• Maintain Point-of-Sale materials.
• Support promotional efforts and advertising campaigns by coordinating demonstrations and training sessions to improve product knowledge, merchandising effectiveness, and food safety awareness.
• Develop relationships at store, wholesale, and manufacturing levels.
• Use market data, including rankings and sales trends, to improve product placement and retail support.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
