Responsible for the management of all employees in the effective planning and implementation of all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. The Store Manager is responsible for recruiting, selecting, and retaining qualified employees, providing proper training, conducting performance evaluations, and making recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement. They must ensure the store is properly staffed, opened, and closed each day, personally opening the store a minimum of two times per week and closing it a minimum of two times per week. The Store Manager evaluates operating statements to identify business trends, expense control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors. They are responsible for ordering merchandise to meet or exceed in-stock targets, reviewing the ordering plan, seasonal direction, and inventory management issues weekly, and following up on Basic Stock Replenishment (BSR)/cycle counts. The role also involves facilitating efficient staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise, ensuring merchandise is presented according to established practices, and maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls. Financial integrity of the store is maintained through strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices and cash control procedures. The Store Manager provides superior customer service leadership, maintains a clean and well-organized store, and ensures a safe and secure working and shopping environment. They ensure the store is adequately equipped with necessary tools and must complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
