About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for managing all employees and effectively planning and implementing store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing, and support. The role ensures the store is properly staffed, opened and closed effectively, and operated in compliance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable labor laws. The manager leads employee training and performance management, oversees store operations and inventory, maintains financial controls, provides customer service leadership, and ensures a clean, safe, and well-organized store.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash-handling procedures, including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash-register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory-management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination practices, including legal compliance and internal processes.
• Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices, including deposits and store keys.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees in accordance with federal and state labor laws and Company policies, and ensure the store is properly staffed.
• Train employees, conduct performance evaluations, identify performance gaps, and provide appropriate solutions or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rates and advancement.
• Regularly communicate performance, conduct, and safety expectations, and coordinate meetings and events that promote safety, security, and policy compliance.
• Ensure the store is appropriately staffed and opened and closed effectively each day; personally open at least twice weekly and close at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify business trends, expense-control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors.
• Order merchandise to meet or exceed in-stock targets; review ordering plans, seasonal direction, and inventory-management issues weekly; and follow up on Basic Stock Replenishment and cycle counts.
• Facilitate efficient staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise according to Company work processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation follows established practices, including proper fixture use, product pricing, and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Protect the store's financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, Company security practices, and cash-control procedures.
• Provide leadership for superior customer service.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and facilitate a safe and secure working and shopping environment.
• Ensure the store has the tools needed to perform required tasks.
• Follow Company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance.
• Complete paperwork and documentation according to guidelines and deadlines.
