About The Position

We are seeking passionate retail leaders to manage our Houston, TX location at Memorial City Mall. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for the total relationship between Portland Leather Goods' retail store/eCommerce platform and its Customers. You will implement the vision and strategy, fostering a customer-first, customer-centric mindset and unifying how all customers view Portland Leather Goods. Your primary focus will be on driving the customer experience to ultimately lead to revenue and profits. This is a full-time position, working up to 40 hours a week, including weekends, with potential for additional hours during peak seasons.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in retail, store operations, and customer experience
  • Possesses a true passion for customer success
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills; must excel at providing direction
  • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and time/project management skills
  • Flexibility in scheduling to meet customer needs with a short turnaround
  • Ability to move merchandise with appropriate equipment to and from backroom and sales floor
  • Ability to place and arrange items on all shelves and racks
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders while carrying merchandise
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more with assistance
  • Ability to be on your feet for a minimum of 8 hours per shift and to continuously move around all areas of the store
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or balance for a duration of time
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, reports, and information on computer/register screens as well as input information into computer

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop and motivate your Team.
  • Achieve sales volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan.
  • Ensure Teammates are delivering outstanding customer service by teaching, coaching, and leading by example.
  • Ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met.
  • Build long-lasting relationships and create a lifetime customer following by actively staying on the Customer's journey/agenda.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals.
  • Identify, organize and execute partnership and events furthering the goals of store customer acquisition goals.
  • Contributes to an environment of total customer satisfaction by making the Customer's needs the first priority.
  • Exerts maximum effort to achieve store sales projections.
  • Identify, conduct, and implement Training and Learning & Development strategies and programs.
  • Manages the sales floor.
  • Maintains daily focus among all Teammates on Customer first interactions.
  • Enforces all policies and procedures to assure store profits by controlling markdowns, store expenses, and payroll.
  • Delivers sales and technology training and store meetings.
  • Understands and enforces all store policies and practices.
  • Protects the Company's interests at all times.
  • Learn all features and benefits of the merchandise.
  • Provides expert knowledge regarding quality, value, and services.
  • Projects a positive, enthusiastic attitude to inspire and motivate others to achieve store goals.
  • Encourages and promotes a cooperative, teamwork environment.
  • Investigates and handles customer complaints quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
  • Manages the implementation and administration of all merchandise and advertising programs, merchandise displays, and inventories as directed.
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of all Portland Leather Goods promotions.
  • Supervises all personnel.
  • Assists in store maintenance, both inside and outside, by delegating or performing these duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
