About The Position

The Store Manager is responsible for directing the management team and associates in facility operations, merchandising, and company direction. This role involves supervising and developing staff in a dynamic environment, potentially facing challenges like high turnover, engagement issues, and competitive markets. The Store Manager upholds the company's Open Door Policy by addressing associate concerns, researching issues, and ensuring consistent resolution across managerial levels. They also ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, manage relationships with officials, and oversee asset protection, safety, and quality assurance. The Store Manager initiates and participates in community outreach programs, acting as a company representative and championing company programs and sustainability efforts. This role drives financial performance by achieving sales and profit goals, controlling expenses, and developing strategic business plans. The Store Manager models and enforces customer service standards, drives sales through effective merchandise presentation and inventory management, and ensures the success of the Academy training environment and store standards. They provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives, developing strategies, and managing resources. Additionally, the Store Manager develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce, cultivates an environment of integrity and ethics, and leverages partnerships to achieve business goals. The role emphasizes respecting individuals by building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, and creating a culture of belonging. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years general management experience, including financial accountability and 4 years’ experience supervising at least 50 nonexempt and at least 5 exempt associates/employees, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and termination; OR 4 years general management experience, including financial accountability and 4 years’ experience supervising at least 50 nonexempt and at least 5 exempt associates/employees, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and termination.
  • Successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state specific requirements, may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, communicates, and leverages a strategic vision aligned with company, market, and local plans and tactics to direct the management team and associates in facility operations, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates.
  • Upholds the company's Open Door Policy by meeting with associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, leveraging resources, reviewing policies, and teaching consistency in responsiveness and resolution.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures by anticipating and responding to compliance issues, navigating challenging compliance requirements, developing relationships with officials, and maintaining quality assurance standards.
  • Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs, encouraging associates and managers to serve as community members and establishing relationships with key community and media contacts.
  • Drives the financial performance of the facility by ensuring sales and profit goals are achieved, controlling expenses, interfacing with market teams to drive margins, and developing plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Models, enforces, and provides direction and guidance to associates and managers on proper customer service approaches and techniques.
  • Drives sales in the facility by accounting for dynamic indicators, ensuring effective merchandise presentation, and budgeting and forecasting sales.
  • Ensures the success of the Academy training environment and store standards by meeting requirements, creating an engaging environment, integrating Academy associates, and engaging trainees.
  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs, developing strategies, determining resource requirements, and evaluating operational processes.
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by recruiting, selecting, and developing talent.
