About The Position

The Store Manager oversees daily operations at one or more self-storage locations with limited direct supervision. The role is responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards, ensuring financial accuracy through effective reporting and controls, and delivering operational excellence. Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, use a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts. The position may involve indoor and outdoor work, from desk tasks to physical duties with varying demands and exposure to seasonal weather.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness, including the office, storage building interiors and exteriors, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Oversee administrative tasks, including maintaining auction files, following up on delinquent accounts, monitoring store budgets, and preparing and delivering bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
