About The Position

Under the team leadership of the Regional Director, the Store Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the Goodwill Good Neighbor Center (primary retail stores) and Attended Donation Center. This role involves managing budgets, ensuring high standards of customer and donor relations, overseeing donation processing, labor scheduling, and maintaining store cleanliness and security.

Requirements

  • Five years of management level work experience.
  • Three years experience in a retail environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to train team members with or without vocational disadvantages.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to seek out internal and external resources to accomplish desired results.
  • Ability to motivate others, delegate job duties, and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing and able to work nights and weekends.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Apparel background a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates team members.
  • Conducts investigations of employee violations of MGI policy and recommends corrective actions.
  • Manages annual budgets for the store, operating within budgeted expense to revenue ratios.
  • Ensures high standards of donor and customer relations.
  • Ensures proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow.
  • Prepares or approves labor scheduling and preparation of time cards.
  • Ensures accurate recording of information in the End of the Day (EOD) report.
  • Ensures coordination and communication of transportation and maintenance needs.
  • Ensures cleanliness and image of the store.
  • Ensures supplies are ordered and maintained securely within budget.
  • Ensures GGC security according to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all company safety practices and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensures statistical counts are completed accurately and timely.
  • Completes and analyzes register PLU readings, cash reports, daily, monthly, and yearly activity reports, transmittal of reports, daily deposits, comment cards, work orders, purchase orders, team minutes, petty cash, and expense reports.
  • Reports needed repairs and/or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Department.
  • Stays informed about product knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing through comparative shopping.
  • Implements measures to improve efficiency, quality of work, work conditions, and performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Director.
