About The Position

This position is responsible for greeting customers, operating the POS system, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The Cashier also plays a role in customer engagement for promotions and assists with training new team members. Adherence to all company policies, safety procedures, and guiding principles is essential.

Requirements

Ability to operate the POS system.
Proficiency in cash handling.
Understanding of coupon and discount processing.
Knowledge of "Change Round-up" program.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
Willingness to assist with promotions.
Ability to stock and maintain merchandise displays.
Commitment to working safely and reporting hazards.
Willingness to train new cashiers.
Ability to clean dressing rooms and re-hang clothes.
Skill in placing and rotating merchandise.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Follow good safety practices.
Report safety hazards and injuries.
Adherence to policies relating to theft or pilferage and cash receipts.
Perform duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
Attend in-service and related training.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner, offering assistance.
Operate the POS system for accurate sales data entry and price lookups.
Handle all transactions accurately, including processing coupons and discounts.
Ensure customers are asked to round up their change to support the Memphis Goodwill mission.
Maintain cleanliness of the store, including front doors, counters, glass, cases, and dressing rooms.
Assist with promotions, including customer information, postings, and special sign displays.
Stock and maintain counter, showcases, and cash/wraps in a neat and clean condition.
Work safely, adhere to proper equipment handling, and report safety hazards.
Assist in training new cashiers.
Place apparel, wares, shoes, and accessories on the sales floor in correct locations and rotate merchandise.
Adhere to all Memphis Goodwill policies and procedures, including safety, theft prevention, and cash handling.
Perform assigned duties within the framework of Guiding Principles.
May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
Attend in-service and related training as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
