Store Manager - Bench
About The Position
The Store Manager manages the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role maintains high standards for merchandising, product placement, and store signage, and uses effective display techniques to create an inviting customer environment. The Store Manager recruits and develops associates, oversees daily store activities, implements direction from corporate headquarters, supports profitability, protects company assets, and maintains customer service and a safe, respectful workplace. The position may also involve opening and closing procedures and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong productivity management in freight processing is required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience is preferred.
- Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
- Train, coach, and develop associates in store operations and merchandising, correcting performance when appropriate.
- Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated by corporate headquarters.
- Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
- Protect company assets.
- Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the store.
- Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
