About The Position

Flying Tiger Copenhagen is a Danish lifestyle retail chain that began in 1995 with a single store in Copenhagen. The brand has expanded to over 1,000 stores across 42 countries. Flying Tiger Copenhagen offers a wide array of products, primarily focusing on accessories and toys, all designed to bring a sense of fun and surprise to everyday life. The store layout is intentionally maze-like, encouraging customers to embark on a "treasure hunt" experience, with at least 300 new items introduced each month. Fox Group, a leading and fast-growing retailer with over 10,000 employees globally, is partnering with Flying Tiger Copenhagen to bring this unique shopping experience to Canada. This collaboration marks an exciting chapter in their journey to become the number one leading group in the retail industry in Canada.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of retail management experience (lifestyle, specialty, or high-volume retail preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams
  • Passion for delivering exceptional and memorable customer experiences
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-turnover product environments is an asset
  • Strong organizational and operational skills, including inventory and stock management
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to drive sales and achieve KPIs
  • Comfortable using retail systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Flexible availability (weekends, evenings, and holidays as required)
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to ~50 lbs) as needed
  • Comfortable using ladders or step stools
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and carrying items

Responsibilities

  • Act as a brand ambassador, creating a fun, welcoming, and engaging store atmosphere for both customers and team members
  • Lead by example to deliver an exceptional customer experience through storytelling, product engagement, and service
  • Communicate clear goals, priorities, and expectations, and monitor team performance against key business metrics
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team, with a strong focus on engagement and succession planning
  • Drive sales performance by executing action plans focused on key KPIs (sales, conversion, items per transaction, average basket)
  • Deliver regular team briefings to share product knowledge, campaigns, and commercial priorities
  • Ensure excellent execution of merchandising and visual standards, aligned with Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s concept and seasonal changes
  • Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, stock flow, and back-of-house organization
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inspiring store environment that reflects the brand identity
  • Optimize store resources and control expenses while maintaining operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations, company policies, and health and safety standards
  • Support new store initiatives, promotions, and product launches with enthusiasm and creativity
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems
  • Utilize the company’s mobile application to manage daily workflows, conduct store audits and visits, complete surveys and checklists, capture and upload photos for documentation, and leverage insights to ensure operational compliance and drive store performance
  • Create, manage, and optimize daily and weekly staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, operational efficiency, and alignment with business needs

Benefits

  • Pay range: $60,000 - 70,000/annually
