Requirements

5+ years of progressively responsible work experience in a retail environment, including 1-2+ years of demonstrated experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader
Demonstrated experience tracking and monitoring customer satisfaction levels
Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated effective team leadership skills with the ability to work well within a multigenerational and diverse team
Ability to effectively manage operational budgets, maximize operational efficiency, and improve sales and growth margin
Effective planning, organization and time management skills
Strong inventory management, analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience coaching, mentoring and providing performance feedback to Managers/Supervisors
Great computer skills (including data entry accuracy) and the ability to manage computer files efficiently

Related experience in the Co-operative Retailing System is an asset

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer experience
Provide leadership and direction to Department Managers in the development and achievement of operational goals and financial results including sales, margins, expenses, inventory, and sales per employee hour (SPEH)
Oversee daily store operations, ensuring proper maintenance, security, and housekeeping of the store and property. Implement company programs, policies, and operational standards effectively
Manage sales growth and profitability by setting sales objectives, monitoring performance, controlling expenses, and recommending pricing, promotions, and product strategies
Handle filing, record keeping, and perform other ISS45 File Maintenance Functions
Ensure efficient procurement, ordering, receiving, and warehousing of merchandise Maintain inventory accuracy, promote or discontinue products as needed, and uphold brand and merchandising standards
Prepare and manage store budgets, ensuring targets for sales, margins, and expenses are achieved. Oversee cash handling, purchase orders, mark-downs, and accounts receivable according to company policy
Recruit, train, and develop employees while setting goals and managing performance. Provide clear direction, ensure adherence to job procedures, and foster a motivated and productive team
Build strong customer relationships by ensuring high service standards, resolving complaints promptly, and implementing initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty
Enforce safety, environmental, and asset protection policies. Ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards to maintain a safe environment for employees and customers
