About The Position

The Store Manager in Training participates in on-the-job training to learn to manage the profitable operations of an assigned Dollar Tree store. The role focuses on maintaining high standards for merchandising, product placement, and store signage, and using effective display techniques to create an inviting customer environment. The trainee helps lead store associates, oversee daily operations, implement company direction, protect company assets, and support store profitability while maintaining a safe, respectful, and customer-focused workplace.

Requirements

• Strong productivity management in freight processing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience preferred.
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise preferred; BIG BOX experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve customers.
• Train, coach, and support associates in operations and merchandising, and correct performance when appropriate.
• Oversee and delegate store activities to support smooth daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Implement operational and merchandising direction communicated by corporate headquarters.
• Help the store reach its maximum profit contribution.
• Protect company assets.
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment and professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
