Requirements

  • 3+ years of retail sales experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully motivate and work with team members.
  • Able to strategically plan and organize both your own tasks and those of your team, delegating effectively.
  • Honest and trustworthy, results-orientated
  • Attentive to detail
  • Strong cash management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective planner
  • Superb time management skills.
  • Ability to fulfill the physical job requirements-manual labour is required.
  • Flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings , and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a culture of safety and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Assist with effectively leading, coaching, and managing the development and direction of the reporting team members.
  • Assist in overseeing the margins, expenses, inventory, and sales of the store. Required to order, process invoices, complete receiving books and claims.
  • Ensure the department is displaying, stocking, and rotating merchandise as per company policy and standard with a focus on maintaining image and brand standards.
  • Provide training to clerks for all store duties and for opening and closing procedures.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Parkland Co-op policies such as selling of age restricted items and all government regulations relating to tobacco and lottery.
  • Complete all necessary daily reports as needed, including daily cash-up and reconciliations.
  • Support and follow the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, procedures and train clerks accordingly.
  • Complete other duties as required.
  • Support and help the department with operating the till, loading products and attending to customers.
  • OHS Supervision and safety course required, and complete safety training as required.
