About The Position

The MFC Store Lead directs and guides member managers and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service. This role ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved according to company guidelines and standards, and builds relationships with associates to ensure proper feedback. The Store Lead answers questions or provides information to customers and associates. They drive and ensure the financial performance of the facility by confirming that budgeted sales, wages, and other expenses are achieved. This role assists the store manager in leading the management team in controlling expenses and wages to ensure expenses are indexed to sales. The Store Lead creates and implements plans to improve the financial performance of the facility, creates budgets to align with business needs, and analyzes economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting. They participate in community outreach programs and encourage and support associates in serving as good members of the community by establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups in the community. The Store Lead serves as a representative for the company in the community, presents the company's perspective to various external organizations, and promotes company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to associates and the local community. The Store Lead directs facility operations by setting the standard for appropriate service levels, teaches and develops effective merchandise presentation, and provides direction and guidance on executing company programs and strategic initiatives. They ensure quality assurance standards and oversee safety and operational reviews. The Store Lead drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers and obstacles, providing resources, identifying performance standards, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly. They also develop contingency plans and demonstrate adaptability and support continuous learning. This role provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team-based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting regular performance evaluations, providing recognition and rewards, coaching for success and improvement, and promoting a belonging mindset. The Store Lead promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others, ensuring compliance, and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. They ensure business needs are met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, consulting with business partners, soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and participating in and supporting community outreach events. Requirements

  • 1 year’s general management experience in role with financial accountability.
  • Option 1: 1 year’s experience in retail and 1 year’s experience supervising ten or more associates/employees.
  • Option 2: 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s experience supervising ten or more associates/employees.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms- specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ general work experience supervising twenty or more direct reports, with responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
