About The Position

Town Pump is looking for a motivated and outgoing Store Deli Manager to join their team. Town Pump is a growing company with increasing opportunities for career growth. This role involves assisting the store manager in supervisory decisions, managing controllable expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls. The manager will set an example for co-workers in professionalism, attitude, and teamwork, conduct new employee orientation and training, and document performance evaluations. Daily tasks include conducting walk-throughs, prioritizing and delegating tasks, maintaining accurate inventories, ordering deli merchandise, and achieving favorable deli metrics. Responsibilities also include maintaining the deli area, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, following sanitation procedures, and ensuring high-quality food preparation. The manager will prepare deli items, cook heated items, and promote kitchen and store safety. Additionally, they will check in deli vendors, cross-check orders, put away received orders, and monitor for errors. Maintaining product rotation, freshness, and checking expiration dates are crucial. The role requires completing and passing ServSafe certification (which may be waived by the Deli Operations Manager) and possessing a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Assist the store manager in supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
Assist in planning, leadership, organization, and follow-up with controllable expenses, sales expenses, sales increases, food costs, and shortage controls.
Set an exemplary example for co-workers in terms of professionalism, attitude, and teamwork in the areas of customer service and Convenience Store Operations.
Conduct new employee orientation and training.
Promote continued development of all employees and objectively document performance and conduct evaluations.
Conduct daily walk-throughs; effectively prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow-up on tasks to be accomplished.
Maintain accurate inventories, order, and maintain deli merchandise, and achieve favorable deli metrics.
Conduct maintenance in the deli area, including basic preventative maintenance and repairs of deli equipment.
Follow all sanitation procedures, and maintain the highest quality standards in food preparation.
Prepare deli items and cook heated items as required.
Promote kitchen and store safety.
Check in deli vendors, cross-check orders, and check items by line number.
Put away the order once received, and watch for miss-picks, wrong pack sizes, and broken/open merchandise.
Maintain PLUs, and print list for tills.
Keep product rotated, and fresh, and check expiration dates.
Remove and discard unauthorized products.
