About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Clerk to provide customer service and support store operations. The role includes cash handling and accounting, stocking, pricing, rotating and displaying merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness and safety, and selling and preparing deli food. Store Clerks also perform assigned duties to support the store’s operating performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints.
• Operate a computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, monitor the store, and detect shoplifters.
• Stock shelves and coolers; price, rotate, and display merchandise.
• Complete shift work and vendor check-in procedures accurately.
• Clean and maintain all areas of the store, including areas inside and outside.
• Follow the protocol system and drive-off controls.
• Advise the store manager of situations or policy violations that adversely affect store operating performance.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, and fill water and cleaning-solution buckets at the islands.
• Keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee area, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
