Store Cleaning Position
About The Position
The Store Cleaning Position is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, and windows, while maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store. The associate also follows operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss-prevention policies and may be cross-trained in other store areas to support business needs. The position supports a positive customer and colleague experience by communicating effectively, working with peers and supervisors, and responding to front-end coverage needs. It also requires flexibility to handle changing priorities and other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
- Ability to multitask.

- Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities
- Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
- Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, such as the backroom, front end, and sales floor, as needed.
- Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
- Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss-prevention controls, including shrink-reduction guidelines and policies.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including associate meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a store culture of honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
