About The Position

The Store Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role involves operating floor-cleaning equipment and performing routine cleaning throughout the store, while upholding operational, merchandising, safety, customer experience, and loss prevention standards.

The associate is cross-trained to support multiple store areas and responds to business needs, including Front End coverage. They contribute to store recovery and a positive store culture through effective communication, teamwork, honesty, integrity, and respect.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Uphold the merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Follow labor laws, company policies, and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
