About The Position

The Store Cashier provides excellent customer service while operating a cash register. The role includes greeting and assisting customers and donors, completing sales transactions, and helping sales-floor employees with stocking and recovery. The position is full-time at SOBT in Orlando, Florida, and pays $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic computer skills.
• Beginner-level knowledge of touch-screen cash registers.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.

Nice To Haves

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous retail and/or cashiering experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers courteously, warmly, and professionally.
• Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service.
• Direct customers to the appropriate area and provide general information upon request.
• Enter sales transactions into the cash register and complete sales.
• Ensure customers receive the correct change and receipt.
• Follow policies and procedures for cash, check, and charge-card transactions, voids, gift cards, and the change Round Up program.
• Keep the register area clean and orderly.
• Answer telephone calls promptly using established etiquette procedures.
• Assist sales-floor employees with stocking and recovery.
