Part-Time Store Cashier/Stocker
About The Position
ALDI is hiring part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized. Both roles help maintain smooth store operations and deliver an excellent customer shopping experience. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $20.00 per hour, with stated wage increases in later years. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. Employees perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation, follow company policies and processes, support operational efficiency and loss goals, maintain store and merchandising standards, follow inventory and product-handling guidelines, help maintain a safe workplace, and complete general cleaning tasks. Depending on the assigned role, duties also include processing purchases and curbside orders or stocking shelves and displays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
- Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
- Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
- Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
- Ability to meet availability requirements.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Model and fulfill customer service principles, and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
- Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
- Comply with established company policies and processes.
- Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
- Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
- Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
- For cashier duties, use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
- For cashier duties, follow cash policies and procedures, follow the line policy, and open additional checkout lanes as required.
- For cashier duties, retrieve curbside pickup items, verify order contents, and deliver orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area in a timely manner.
- For stocker duties, stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
