About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic part-time cashiers and stockers. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, while stockers keep shelves stocked and organized to support a positive shopping experience. Both roles help maintain smooth store operations and deliver excellent customer service. The position averages fewer than 30 hours per week and starts at $19.50 per hour. Listed wage increases are $20.00 in Year 2, $20.50 in Year 3, $20.50 in Year 4, and $21.50 in Year 5.

Employees perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation, follow company policies and processes, support operational efficiency and loss goals, maintain store and merchandising standards, handle products according to inventory guidelines, and perform general cleaning. Cashier duties include using the POS system, following cash and checkout procedures, opening additional lanes when needed, and completing curbside pickup orders. Stocker duties include stocking shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms; stockers must be able to start work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
• Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
• Ability to meet availability requirements.
• Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead, and working in freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
• Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
• Comply with established company policies and processes.
• Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
• Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
• Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
• Use the POS system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
• Follow cash policies and procedures.
• Follow the checkout line policy and open additional check lanes as required.
• Retrieve, verify, and timely deliver curbside pickup orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
• Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
