Temporary Seasonal Store Associate-Part Time
About The Position
The Seasonal Peak Associate is a temporary, part-time role supporting essential store operations during peak seasons and at newly opened stores. Responsibilities include register support, freight receiving, and merchandising assigned areas to contribute to a positive customer experience and efficient store operations. The work takes place in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment. Associates work across sales, stockroom/receiving, and operations/office areas, whose conditions may vary by store. The position involves frequent physical activity, including using hand tools, climbing ladders, moving, reaching, and lifting. Associates should be able to regularly lift 35 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Legible handwriting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to regularly lift 35 pounds.
- Ability to perform the physical activities described, including frequent use of hand tools, ladder climbing, moving, reaching, and lifting.
Nice To Haves
- Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service and build friendly rapport by exemplifying the T.R.E.A.T. model and fostering a welcoming environment.
- Operate a cash register efficiently, handle transactions accurately, and assist customers with product inquiries, item locations, and purchases.
- Promote company-wide customer initiatives, including donations, loyalty programs, and special offers.
- Maintain accurate displays, restock assigned areas, and meet OSJL merchandising standards.
- Unload deliveries according to company processes, organize merchandise, and prepare it for the sales floor.
- Safely set up and move fixtures as needed.
- Collaborate effectively and independently to achieve goals, and communicate opportunities for improvement to store leadership.
- Understand, support, and implement store safety protocols.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and safe environment through regular cleaning and janitorial tasks.
