Full-Time Store Associate

About The Position

As a store associate, you’ll be responsible for merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You’ll enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30+ hours per week, with a starting wage of $19.50 per hour. Wage increases are listed as Year 2: $20.00, Year 3: $20.50, Year 4: $20.50, and Year 5: $21.50. The associate performs duties with or without reasonable accommodation and supports store operations, customer service, merchandising, checkout, curbside pickup, safety, inventory handling, and cleaning.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process customer purchases, and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors.
Adhere to cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required to ensure efficient checkout.
Stock shelves and displays neatly in accordance with merchandising planograms to maximize sales.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items accurately, verifying order contents, and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards at all times.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help provide a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
