About The Position

The Store Associate is responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store in good condition. The role supports a positive customer shopping experience through teamwork and exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $20.00 per hour. The stated wage increases are $20.50 in Year 2, $21.00 in Year 3, $21.00 in Year 4, and $22.00 in Year 5. The associate must be able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Work includes serving customers, processing purchases, stocking and merchandising products, fulfilling curbside pickup orders, maintaining store standards, supporting operational and loss goals, following company policies and safety practices, handling inventory, and performing general cleaning.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles, escalating concerns to store management as necessary.
Inform store management of loss due to outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the line policy and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Retrieve and verify curbside pickup orders and deliver them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Support a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
