About The Position

As a Store Associate, you are responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You contribute to a positive customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position averaging 30 or more hours per week, with a starting wage of $18.50 per hour. Wage increases are listed as $19.00 in Year 2, $19.50 in Year 3, $19.50 in Year 4, and $20.50 in Year 5. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks to maximize productivity within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service in accordance with company principles and escalate concerns to store management as needed.
Inform store management about loss resulting from outdated or damaged products.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as needed to support efficient checkout.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying order contents, and delivering orders promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Maintain zone and merchandising standards.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
