About The Position

The Retail Store Associate works in a customer-focused retail setting, both independently and as part of a team, to support customers and help meet their healthcare-related needs. The role includes providing attentive customer service, performing cashier duties, maintaining the sales floor and inventory, supporting store operations, and assisting other departments, including pharmacy when needed. Associates also promote CVS services and loyalty programs. The position is part-time, with 20 anticipated weekly hours.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to remain upright on one's feet for sustained periods.
• Ability to lift and exert up to 35 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount regularly, including overhead lifting.
• Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, read, and visually inspect small parts or details.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate customer needs, provide compassionate and attentive service, and identify and resolve potential service issues.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and help customers locate items when needed.
• Perform cashier duties, including handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately and according to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, checking in vendors, updating pricing information, and completing inventory tasks as directed by the store manager.
• Support store opening and closing activities when needed.
• Support all departments, including photo and beauty, by helping ensure they are stocked and operational and staying current with updated services and tools.
• Assist pharmacy personnel when needed, including working regular shifts in the pharmacy as an opportunity for growth and career development.
• Promote CVS services and loyalty programs that support customers on their path to better health.
