About The Position

Town Pump is seeking a motivated and outgoing Store Assistant Manager to support store operations and the store manager. The assistant manager helps enforce company standards, policies, and procedures; maintains merchandise, inventory, pricing, store appearance, cleanliness, signage, and promotions; and serves as acting store manager when the store manager is absent and other designated managers are unavailable. The role also supports staffing, scheduling, training, administrative work, store maintenance, and customer service.

Responsibilities

Assist the store manager in enforcing supervisory decisions consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures.
Help maintain product pricing, inventory, merchandise, store appearance and cleanliness, product dating, outdated merchandise, signage, promotions, invoicing, cigarette store maintenance, shelf tags, and vendor control.
Serve as acting store manager during the store manager’s absence when a co-manager or manager in training is unavailable; fill in for absent employees, especially on tills or in the deli.
Assist with employee scheduling and paperwork, including books and cashier duties.
Advise the store manager about personnel situations or policy violations that influence store operations.
Prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow up on assigned shift tasks; maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of cashier lanes, counters, shelves, and stocked areas.
Order products, identify and ensure accurate pricing, and maintain product inventory, displays, signage, cigarette store ads, merchandise, compliance contracts, and product dating.
Conduct preventive store maintenance and basic repairs; promote store safety; and perform administrative tasks including bookkeeping, payroll, record and file maintenance, and daily bank deposits.
Supervise staff training and scheduling, and assist with new employee training and orientation as directed by the manager.
Greet and communicate with customers, provide exceptional customer service, and model professionalism, a positive attitude, and teamwork in customer service and convenience store operations.
