Thomas Cuisine is seeking a Stockroom Receiving and Prep Cook to join their team. This role involves ensuring efficiency in the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food and non-food items. The position also includes cross-training as a Prep Cook. Requirements

  • 18 years or older, pending specific state requirements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Successful background check and drug screen, state specific.
  • Health screening and TB tests, state specific.
  • ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card, state specific.
  • The ability to work holiday and weekend shift schedules.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper receiving and storage of all food and supplies.
  • Assist with unloading and verifying purchased food and supply shipments into the kitchen against requisitions and invoices.
  • Correct and/or notify vendors and supervisors of errors at the time of delivery.
  • Place orders away properly, using the FIFO system, in the designated areas.
  • Keep storerooms clean, organized, and free of clutter.
  • Ensure all items in storage areas are properly labeled and dated according to policy.
  • Daily cleaning and organizing of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
  • Ensure food storage areas shelves are clean and stocked by front-facing, checking dates, labels, rotating and removing out-of-date products.
  • Monitor products on hand and make managers and cooks aware of any items nearing expiration to be utilized in operation.
  • Monitor product usage for appropriate par levels.
  • Daily physical inventory and ordering of foods and supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts, product ordering & end of the monthly process.
  • Immediately report safety hazards.
  • Maintain and promote a friendly and approachable attitude towards the client, guests, and staff.
  • Communicate clearly and openly with all staff members for overall success.
  • Cross train to Prep Cook for 2 shifts per week.
