About The Position

Spectrum Control offers a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule in many departments, providing a 3-day weekend. They offer competitive wages and PTO, with benefits starting on day one. The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for maintaining, controlling, distributing, and re-ordering all indirect materials essential for production and production-supported activities. This role involves assisting with inventory counts, kitting work orders, labeling, printing assembly instructions and drawings, and performing activities to maintain perpetual inventory controls. The clerk will interact with the production department regarding their inventory needs and may also perform shipping, stocking, distributing, and packaging duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent education.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Stockroom role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and write receiving documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions and metric conversions.
  • Proficiency with electronic and digital weigh scales.
  • Ability to use computers and word processing programs.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets and database software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) and web navigation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation on materials, including reviewing order shop floor lists for corrections and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Perform quarterly and year-end inventories on materials and supplies.
  • Enter information into the computer system.
  • Monitor and maintain an accurate production order log of main and sub-assembly orders for tracking.
  • Prepare and document materials for interplant transfer.
  • Ensure all kits are filled and communicate any irregularities or shortages to the department supervisor.
  • Process and move materials, including loading materials into totes according to shop floor instructions and performing inventory transactions.
  • Lift and move boxes and containers to the staging area.
  • Weigh and count materials received from production as over-run material, marking them with proper inventory labels and information.
  • Assist with the disposition of stocked materials, receiving, and kitting production orders.
  • Perform cycle counts as scheduled to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
  • Document missing or incorrect quantities of materials and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Perform computer tasks related to stockroom operations and enter daily inventory transactions.
  • Interact with staff by answering materials inquiries and requesting office and shop supplies through purchasing.
  • Ensure all bins, boxes, and bags are clearly marked/labeled with part numbers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and department objectives.
  • Provide backup and training as needed.
