About The Position

The Stock Handler II pulls inventory, transfers in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, counts, organizes, and stores stock or parts in our warehouse departments. Stock Handler II requires management of inventory via cycle counts. This position requires operating various Power Industrial Truck (PIT) vehicles to route parts, and finished goods, working directly with various manufacturing departments. This position trains other staff on a multitude of warehouse functions.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate an understanding of basic math to accurately measure/calculate quantities of parts/stock counted.
  • Demonstrated training/mentoring ability, along with demonstrated self-start behavior and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to learn in a fast-paced environment and to effectively identify part numbers and/or descriptions, including identifying needs for improvement.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions, including clear communication with peers and upstream/downstream customers where needed.
  • Must have working knowledge of PIT operation and/or ERP System experience.
  • Generally, requires a minimum of 1 year of warehouse related experience.
  • Must be PIT certified to operate various motorized material handling vehicles (lift trucks, stock pickers, pallet jacks, etc.), along with a demonstrated ability to use that and other tools/equipment necessary to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides stock handling training to less experienced Stock Handler I peers to assure that established procedures are followed and standards for safety, quality and quantity are met.
  • Gathers inventory according to instructions provided on department specific paperwork and/or processes, routing them to designated areas safely, while maintaining quality and on-time delivery standards.
  • Maintains organization and accuracy of work area by following and training others to established procedures. Completing orders, staging in-process work and supply items, monitor stock rotation, allocation of storage space on shelves, inventory transaction sequence in ERP system, and loading and unloading trucks when required.
  • Regularly provides input to Supervisor regarding condition of work area and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilizes appropriate PIT material handling techniques, following all safety guidelines, and must not pose a risk to self or others.
  • Assists in cycle count process and maintains/updates information in ERP system.
