About The Position

The Stock Clerk position in a grocery setting involves stocking and straightening merchandise and supplies, rotating products based on expiration dates, and receiving/unloading truck deliveries. The role also includes performing basic housekeeping duties, operating tools and equipment safely, and handling groceries for customers. This position requires the ability to lift and move items, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform tasks with limited supervision. Secondary functions include maintaining a clean work area, assisting customers with unloading carts, bagging purchases, and potentially operating cashier equipment.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform job functions.
Follows dress code.
Follows written and oral instructions.
Follows established safety policies and procedures.
Works well with others.
Speaks English fluently.
Eyesight corrected to 20/20.
Hearing corrected to normal range.
Possess full range of motion on shoulders, arms, hands, legs and feet.

Responsibilities

Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
Rotates merchandise as necessary according to product expiration dates.
Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
Unloads groceries from customers shopping cart.
Carries or carts groceries to customer’s car.
Properly bags or packages customers purchases using correct size and quantity of bags.
Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
Performs all essential job functions with limited supervision.
Other duties as assigned.
