The Stock Clerk performs warehouse functions including receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, and supplies. They maintain stock records, manage inventory and storage, and handle cataloging and property utilization. This role involves remediation packaging of items to prolong shelf-life and prevent damage, and preparing items for shipment. The Stock Clerk will utilize systems such as Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS). This work requires understanding program requirements and standardized guidelines, sorting and weighing incoming articles, verifying receipts, examining stock for conformance to specifications, storing articles appropriately, and filling orders. The position also involves compiling reports on stock handling equipment usage, inventory adjustments, stock record discrepancies, damaged stock, location changes, and shipment refusals. Duties may include marking articles with identifying codes, distributing stock to production workers, keeping records of issued materials, making minor repairs to stock items, and cutting stock to size for orders. All work must be performed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), GCSS-Army End User Manual, system policies, safety policies, and all local/federal laws and procedures. Document and file maintenance will follow the Army Record Information Management System and Contract/Corporate requirements. This role is customer service oriented, requiring an understanding of part requisition processes and the mission of supported units/organizations.
