About The Position
The Stitcher / Leatherwork Craftsman plays a key role in stitching and assembling leather products across tack, saddles, and pads, ensuring durability and quality craftsmanship. This role requires a passion for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating high-quality leather goods.
Requirements
- Experience in stitching or upholstery (preferably leather).
- Strong detail orientation for stitch spacing and quality.
- Able to follow production orders and templates.
- Comfortable using hand tools like punches and awls.
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines and troubleshooting.
- 2+ years in leatherwork, saddlery, or textile sewing.
- Familiarity with tack/saddle construction a plus.
- Willingness to cross-train and adapt to multiple areas.

Responsibilities
- Operate various industrial sewing machines for leather and fabric materials.
- Perform hand-stitching on custom or detailed projects.
- Prepare materials through marking, trimming, and punching.
- Assemble leather components based on specs and production orders.
- Inspect stitching for quality and alignment.
- Assist in pad quilting and foam shaping.
- Repair or rework returned items.
- Organize workspace and label materials.
- Communicate shortages or machine issues to supervision.
- Support cross-training efforts.
- All other duties as assigned by management
